Out of Africa

Africa, the "Cradle of Civilization" is teeming with life. Jungles, deserts, river valleys and some of the most beautiful landscapes in the whole world are on the African Continent. We are most fortunate to have the privilage of God's handy work in this amazing country.

Africa is in trouble. Famine, plague, hunger abound as well as political upheaval. People are being herded like cattle from their ancestral homes and lands for the sake of a few dollars. Children and whole families are starving to death right before our eyes. Old growth forests are being torn down in the name "progress".

Most of us prefer not to have attention drawn to these situations. If we remain silent and turn our heads maybe it will all go away. Unfortunately, it has not and will not go away. Here are a few good sites if you are inclined to help.

The American Red Cross:
Donate to a specific area, your own neighborhood or choose a country. Also, links on how to help and become a disaster relief volunteer.

The Hunger Site:
Feed the hungry with just on click of your mouse. No cost to you as the site sponsers pay. What a terrific idea!

Rainforest Action Network-African Campaign :
Find out about the Congo Basin and the African rainforests at RAN. 20% of our remaining rainforests are in the Congo and are being torn down at an alarming rate.
